It's official. We are going to cloth diaper our little one. I have done a lot of research on this and it just seems like the best thing for our family. It's very inexpensive compared to purchasing disposable diapers for a year and a half to two years. I explained it all to my Husband and he agreed that we should cloth diaper.
I'm going to try and accumulate a cloth diaper stash early so that I can have enough diapers by the time the baby gets here. I've joined a few local Co-Ops on Facebook. The first set of diapers that I purchased was from Kawaii. They are the diaper covers. Now I need to purchase some pre-folds. I haven't found any that I like yet. Next I plan to purchase some of the All In One Diapers with the Inserts.
Who else cloth diapers? How do you like it? Would you recommend a new mom to cloth diaper?
How do you go about cleaning a cloth diaper? Rinse the poop off in the sink before putting it in the washer! Sorry I'm just really curious because I would also like to do this when I have kids to be more "Green" but I'm worried about the clean up process and sanitizing?
ReplyDeleteYou would rinse the poop off in the toilet. They have diaper washers. Cost about $50 for one. Some people use the long removable shower head and rinse the diapers off in the toilet with that. I think i might buy diaper liners. Its a thin insert that will keep solids on it. So if the baby poops you can toss the liner i the toilet and only pee will be in the cloth diaper. Then you will not have to einse anything. They can go straight in the washing machine
Deletei have heard a lot of those that use cloth diapers like it a lot. but then again, if you are a good couponer, you can get disposable diapers pretty cheap too with coupons and they are out ALL the time!
ReplyDeleteI will use disposables when traveling away from home.
