I finally got my hair done. I have been letting my natural hair breath for about a week. I've now gotten a weave sew in my hair. Since it's been so hot lately it's easier for me to take care of a weave.

My natural hair is not hard to manage. It's actually fairly easy to manage. The only problem is when it's hot, humid, windy or rainy it will mess up fast. If I flat iron my hair it might last a day or two. The weave hair will last about two weeks before I have to get it done again.

This is a protective hair style. All of my hair is braided under neath the weave. This will give my hair a break from possibly being damaged by not combing, brushing or applying heat.

Hope you like my Transformation!

My Husbands ship is going underway in the next day or two. They will be gone for almost three weeks. We've been spending a lot of time together lately so I'm not in the mood to share him with the Navy for so long.

Good thing is there's a possibility that he might not have to go. He's trying to check out of this ship by Wednesday. If his leave is approved then he can check out and we can start to prepare to head to Georgia. His new Duty station will be Kings Bay.

The Bad thing is his ship does everything last minute. So there's no way for us to plan for this week or the next three weeks until we find out Wednesday if his leave is approved. Whatever decision that is made will be okay with us. Of course we would prefer that he doesn't go underway with the ship and he can start his leave asap. If he has to go underway we will just deal with it. We have dealt with it plenty of times before.

I'm not ready to move to Georgia yet but i'm ready to start our vacation! My husband has only taken 5 leave days in the past 16 months. Since his ship was on dry dock for 15 months it was hard for him to take his leave. Whenever he was ready to take leave they would have a hold on it for his department. So he pretty much kept missing out.

I can't wait till he takes his 40 days of leave beginning some time in May! We plan to really enjoy that time together. Time for us to make a list of fun things to do, especially since we are doing a cross country road trip from San Diego, CA to St. Marys, GA

Any ideas of where we should stop on the way to Georgia? What should we try to see? I think we will be through Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi and then to Alabama. We plan to stay in Alabama for a few days to see his family. 7 more hours till we've made it to our new Duty Station in Georgia.

I've never done this either. I was to scared to run away or sneak out. I wasn't rebellious at all. I was a home body so I loved being at home.

3. Did you have any imaginary friends?
Never had any imaginary friends.

4. Did you ever go toilet papering?
No, but it sounds like it would be fun.

5. Did you ever sneak TV shows you weren't allowed to watch?
Of course I did. but I can't honestly think of any that I use to sneak and watch. This weeks questions got nothing but NO as my responses pretty much. lol

There's so many people that say that they wish they were a military spouse. They are under the impression that it's a carefree life. They probably think of movies like "Dear John" when they think of a "Military Spouse". Well let me let the world in on a little secret, It's not like "Dear John"!!

Once I married my husband I lost a small part of my identity. Whenever I need to take care of any business that is military related I don't give my social security number, I give his. For example, when I call to schedule a doctors appointment at the Military Treatment Facilities, The first question they ask me is "Are you the Sponsor or the Dependent?". The next question is "What is your Sponsors social security number?" They don't look my information up by my name or date of birth. No, It's by his social security number.

I am not Jeremy's wife nor am I myself. I am a DEPENDENT. This is what the Military classifies me as. I don't like the title but I deal with it. This is the life I live as a Military Spouse. As much as I dislike Duty nights, fast cruises, underways and deployments, I still deal with it. The military offers us a lot of benefits that some other employers might not. Such as housing allowance, food allowance, 100% coverage for healthcare and a variety of other things. When It comes to benefits I could write a long list of things.

One things for sure, his job is secure. He just signed another 4 year contract. So I know for the next four years he will be employed . The pros out weight the cons for us. I know this life can be tough at times. There has been days, weeks and months when I'm without my husband. When important things come up, I have to email him and hope that he's able to check his email and respond in a timely manner even with is demanding work schedule. If i'm able to text him, then I'm really lucky. I have to make decisions for the both of us without talking to him sometimes.

My husband is the financial provider for our family. He goes to work and makes the money to support us. He's the Captain and I'm the Co-Pilot. He works long hours due to his demanding job. It's my responsibility to handle the things that he's to busy to deal with.

I am the person that makes sure the bills are paid. I make sure we have all the necessities that we need. If the car needs repairs I'm the one that takes the car to the shop. I have to remember when the registration is due so I can pay it because our cars are registered in states that we no longer live in. We've had so many addresses in the past few years that we don't even bother to contact most companies and change our address on file with them.

I don't know if you would call a "Military Spouse" a job or not. I do know that I have a lot of responsibilities that I need to take care of. Just like a wife of a civilian worker might have. I play my role in our relationship and sometimes I have to cover some things for my Husband in his absence  When he's home we are a team and we work hard to keep things in order. We also remember to make sure to keep each other happy while taking care of the other things in our lives.

When my Husband is not working we have date nights at least twice a week but normally more. My Husband does not have weekends off. He does get "days" off and we take advantage of those days. We visit museums, amusement parks, landmarks, state parks, beaches, casinos, clubs and other fun and nice places during weekday hours. My Husband and I, do these things together, when other couples might be working a 9-5 job, with weekends off.

We get to live in a variety of cities and states. That's not always a good thing but it works for us. I'm a fan of BEING in new places but I'm not a fan of the "process of MOVING" to these new places. That's the way it is. I can't always get what I want but in the end I still have a smile on my face. One things for sure, I'm proud to be Jeremy's Wife. I'm not just Jeremy's wife, I'm still considered a MILITARY SPOUSE/DEPENDENT! It's funny that they call me a Dependent because I'm anything but Dependent.

Please feel free to share all vents and rants about being a Military Spouse below.

My husband was lucky enough to have four days off of work this week. We made sure to stay busy each day he was off. Late last night we decided to make the hour drive to Pechanga Casino for our date night. My husband loves going to the casinos. I'm not really a fan of it.

Let me start off by saying I put $100 in the machine and was making $2 bets and my money was gone in a few minutes. After that I figured I would just entertain myself by drinking soda and playing games on my phone. lol. I guess you can say I got bored after losing my money.

Well, they say lightening never strikes twice. This statement does not apply to the Mills Family. Last week my husband won almost $800 at a casino. This time he won almost $1000!!!

As much as I don't like the casinos, I love when my husband wins US some money. You see the key word is US. When it comes to his earnings and winnings, it's "team work". haha

This week I'm looking forward to us enjoying the winnings and having some more fun. I think we will take another gamble next weekend.

My face has really been breaking out lately. I'm starting to look like a teenager in the face with all the little bumps and stuff. I've been using my normal face wash and I haven't changed my laundry detergent either. So I'm not sure exactly what has me breaking out. I'll just assume it's because I've moved from Washington. Maybe the weather/climate change.

Since my normal daily face wash has not been getting the job done, it's time I've tried something new. My sister told me she uses Dickinsons Witch Hazel to get rid of her pimples when she has an outbreak. So I've decided to give it a try. It can't hurt. I need to try something out.

Today is day 3 for me. I notice a change in my skin. My skin is oily, then when i wash it, it becomes dry. After I wash my face I then apply the witch hazel. It is oil free. I do feel a tightness afterwards. The Witch hazel cleanses the skin by removing excess oil and dirt without over drying the skin. I plan to use this as a natural astringent on a daily basis.

As you can tell from the picture, my face is sort of shiny. Not a good shiny either. More of a dirty sort of shine because there's a lot of little bumps on my forehead and on my cheeks and chin are.

I have combination skin because it's naturally oily in some areas and can be dry in others. The dry spots are normally on the sides of my mouth and lower cheek area. I hope this Witch Hazel cleans my skin so I can feel pretty again! lol If you have any  products that you use for combination skin then let me know about them.

Hubby and I decided to go to Viejas Casino a few days ago. He loves casino's and we have only been to one since our Las Vegas Vacation.

We signed up for the players card and they gave us a free buffet. This worked out perfect because we were hungry and wanted to try out the buffet. I'm glad we passed the players card desk, because we were on our way straight to the buffet. You can imagine how happy we were to hear that we receive free buffets today!

I'm not big on gambling. I normally win  about $100 and I get super happy. Well this time was special. My Husband won $723! That's big for us. It's the most he's ever won. I won about $200 that night. I think that's the most I've ever won. lol. We took almost $1000 home. This was by far, one of our best date nights ever!

I plan to go back to Viejas in the near future. It's in Alpine, which is about 30 minutes away from our apartment in Chula Vista.

I have so much to be thankful for. There's so many things that I do not even know if I could write a list on this blog post.

First I would like to say how I'm thankful that I was able to wake up this morning. I was able to make it to age 28 as of Tuesday. I'm thankful for my health. I have no health issues or problems. I'm thankful that I successfully recovered from a breast reduction that I had three months ago.

I'm thankful for having a loving and support husband. I know that I can be a handful and a lot to deal with at times. He still loves me regardless! I'm thankful for having a loving family around me.

These are just some of the things that I'm thankful for. There's plenty more where that came from.

What are you thankful for??

I went to a sneak preview of the new movie 42. The movie was free because we watched it at the theater on Naval Base San Diego. The people were lined up outside before the theater opened. I didnt think the crowd would be that big. Im not sure if it was because everybody like free movies or because they were really interested in seeing a movie about Jackie Robinson.

Chadwick Boseman plays Baseball legend Jackie Robinson. This movie shows how Jackie Robinson had to face adversity and how he managed to overcome it all. He became the first black male to enter into a Major League Baseball contract. Branch Rickey, played by Harrison Ford, signed him to the team.

The actors did a great job. I like all movies that Harrison Ford stars in so I knew it would be a good movie. The movie felt pretty long but it was 128 minutes. It was a great movie and my husband and I both enjoyed it. At the end of the movie the audience gave a round of applause!

This movie will be in Theaters April 12. Be sure to go and see it!

I've been enjoying my time in Southern California. I feel somewhat like a Hollywood Star because I get to travel so much! We decided to take a two hour drive up to the Los Angeles area on Thursday night, since my husband had Friday off.

We had a jam packed day on Friday. We were all over L.A. Took a nice ride down Pacific Highway in Malibu and laid out on the beach for a few hours. Later that day we decided to go to Hollywood.

We walked down Hollywood Boulevard. It's almost like walking down the Las Vegas strip. There's so much to see and do. I love going to the Wax Museum because there's always something new in there. We didn't get a chance to go this time but we did go to the Ripley's Believe It or Not.

I saw some cool things in there! I also ran into Tyrone Burton, the guy from the old show Parent Hood.

I love our little mini vacations that we take together. Time with my husband is always nice, especially since he works so much.

My Birthday is Tuesday but my Husband has duty so I will go to dinner with my family. I bought myself a Micheal Kors purse a few days ago. That's a gift to myself from myself. lol. I wonder what my husband will get me! I plan to go horseback riding with my sister and my cousin next Sunday, that's also a birthday gift!
