My face has really been breaking out lately. I'm starting to look like a teenager in the face with all the little bumps and stuff. I've been using my normal face wash and I haven't changed my laundry detergent either. So I'm not sure exactly what has me breaking out. I'll just assume it's because I've moved from Washington. Maybe the weather/climate change.
Since my normal daily face wash has not been getting the job done, it's time I've tried something new. My sister told me she uses Dickinsons Witch Hazel to get rid of her pimples when she has an outbreak. So I've decided to give it a try. It can't hurt. I need to try something out.
Today is day 3 for me. I notice a change in my skin. My skin is oily, then when i wash it, it becomes dry. After I wash my face I then apply the witch hazel. It is oil free. I do feel a tightness afterwards. The Witch hazel cleanses the skin by removing excess oil and dirt without over drying the skin. I plan to use this as a natural astringent on a daily basis.
As you can tell from the picture, my face is sort of shiny. Not a good shiny either. More of a dirty sort of shine because there's a lot of little bumps on my forehead and on my cheeks and chin are.
I have combination skin because it's naturally oily in some areas and can be dry in others. The dry spots are normally on the sides of my mouth and lower cheek area. I hope this Witch Hazel cleans my skin so I can feel pretty again! lol If you have any products that you use for combination skin then let me know about them.
Be sure to follow my blog so you can stay updated and informed!

I sometimes use Witch Hazel, mostly in the warmer months. Oatmeal mask with honey in it will also help combination skin.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing that. Ive tried oatmeal mask in th past. Maybe its time for me to do it again. That can be my night time thing!
Deleteyou are still pretty! i do understand the breakout issue though. could also just be stress with the move and such. i use lemon juice as a toner. 1/2 cup water. 1/4 cup lemon juice (from bottle or fresh) and 1 or 2 tablespoons alcohol (to kill the bacteria/germs). put in a bottle and use daily. it is also a pinterest pin of mine. good luck!
ReplyDeleteWhenever i see bumps i start to freak out. Im loving these natural toner ideas!
DeleteI found your blog on Aloha Friday and just started following on GFC. I used to use Witch Hazel in middle school, but have not tried it in years. I might have to give it a shot the next time my skin acts up.

My sister swears by witch hazel, I am not sure which brand that she uses.I not sure what advice to give you cause I have been using the same products for years, I used Mary Kay and Oil of Olay and I hardly ever have a problem with my skin, It may be something that you are eating, maybe with an acid base, well I hope that it clears soon, in that last pic it did not bad, actually it looked pretty much smooth, have a great weekend!
