Jeremy when he was in School this Summer
My Husband should be reenlisting in the Navy within the next few weeks. I'm excited because now I know what the next five years of our life will be. I'm also nervous because I don't know where the next five years of our life will be. I know that he will still be in the navy, that makes me feel secure. I just don't know where our location will be at.
We have discussed different options these last few months. We would both like to go OCONUS. I would also love to stay in Hawaii. We are pretty sure that if all else fails San Diego is always an option and it's almost guaranteed if he wants San Diego that he will get San Diego.
I have been to Hawaii once when my husband was finishing up a deployment and their last stop was Hawaii before they were to come home. I decided I would fly out there and spend that time with him last summer for about a week. When I got there I fell in love with Hawaii. I would seriously prefer that over the mainland. I'm from a beach city and Hawaii is an Island so I would still feel like i'm at home. I know about two weeks ago it was still very warm out there. That's just when it had started to rain out here in Washington.
I would love to go outside of the country to so that I can experience living outside of the U.S. I'm not sure which country yet. I need to do some more research on this. I have a friend that was stationed in Korea and a cousin that is currently stationed in Japan. I hear that the bases are small in both places. Which means that you are pretty much restricted to that area for living, shopping and anything else that you need to do. It would be a once in a life time experience for me to live outside of the country for a year or two. I love to learn about new cultures!
It's the same way in Bremerton. We live in a small area and everything is pretty close to base. We are about 35 minutes away from Tacoma. It's almost like we live in the middle of nowhere right now.
I would love to hear about any experiences that you have had while being stationed overseas. Be sure to leave your email address so I can respond with any questions. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteRight now we don't have too many stories. That's why im ready for my husband to receive new orders so we can make more memories in new places!
DeleteWe were stationed at Atsugi (Japan) from 2008-2011. We had a great experience. I would encourage all military families to live overseas at some point during their service. It is a once in a lifetime thing. I wish you lots of luck with the re-enlistment and future. I totally understand the mixed feelings. And if you get San Diego, it isn't all bad. Warm Weather and lots to do!
ReplyDeleteSan Diego is the best. That's my hometown. I just want to experience something new.
